Online Course: Frequently Asked Questions

How much time should I expect to spend a week?

When taking an online course, you should expect to apply 7 - 10 hours of your time a week, but depending on what pace you work at it could be less. Online courses are also self-paced: you do not need to go online at certain times, only on your own time.

How does the online course system work?

Online courses are powered by "Desire2Learn" or D2L. A D2L course site allows "anytime, anywhere" access to syllabi, readings, multi-media files, electronic drop boxes, online quizzes, email, grading, student progress reports, project files, and more.

Is my browser compatible with D2L?

Most computers are compatible with D2L without installing anything. To see if your browser is compatible with D2L, click here. To view detailed D2L requirements, click here.

Do I ever have to go on campus with an online course?

Unless your course specifies on-site time, you do not have any on-campus requirements.
