This 4 hour course provides practical instruction on payroll processes and payroll law. Participants will receive hand-on direction on creating statements and forms. Designed as a refresher or update for those with some payroll familiarity, instructor Gary Sorenson will provide plain-English examples, administrative tips, demonstration of Word and Excel capabilities, and interactive Q&A. Topics: Calculate gross pay and deductions from pay Calculate tax withholding Prepare forms W-2 and 941 Determine what employer-provided benefits are taxable or subject to reporting Compliance with state and federal payroll law Who should attend: Those with some payroll experience, but want to learn the latest on law and practices in payroll, such as, Small business owners Tax professionals Intermediate-level payroll administrators HR/Benefits professionals When: 8:00 a.m. to Noon on Friday, July 31 Where: Northwest Technical College, room 322 (near south engrance) Registration Form.
